## Prompt E1: Mark the AI-tells

When to use it: before you send anything an AI helped you write. It marks lines that read like stock AI writing and changes nothing. You decide what to fix.

```
Read the text below as an editor who dislikes stock AI phrasing. Do not rewrite it.
Quote each line or phrase that reads like AI and name the pattern. Patterns to look for: stock openers; flattery of the reader; "not just X, it's Y" framing; groups of three used as padding; stacked hedges (may, might, could, often); empty intensifiers (truly, incredibly, seamless, robust); stock words (delve, leverage, unlock, landscape, tapestry); a summary of what was just said; a closing line that repeats the point; over-polished bullet lists; heavy em dash use; vague attribution (experts say, studies show).
Add other patterns only if you can quote them. If a line reads fine and sounds like a person, leave it alone.
Finish with the number of flagged lines (count each flagged line or phrase once) and the three that matter most.
You provide: the text.
## Worked example (fictional post)
```
In today's fast-paced world, small business owners face unprecedented financial challenges. Bookkeeping isn't just about numbers, it's about unlocking the power of your business. By leveraging a simple, consistent, and truly seamless weekly routine, you can gain valuable insights into your cash flow. I've been doing bookkeeping for nine years, and I can tell you that ten minutes every Friday is a game changer. In conclusion, regular reviews are essential for long-term success. What's your weekly money routine? Let me know in the comments!
```
**What E1 returned:**
```
Flagged lines
1. "In today's fast-paced world, small business owners face unprecedented financial challenges." Stock opener, and "unprecedented" is vague.
2. "Bookkeeping isn't just about numbers, it's about unlocking the power of your business." "Not just X, it's Y" framing, plus the stock phrase "unlocking the power".
3. "By leveraging a simple, consistent, and truly seamless weekly routine, you can gain valuable insights into your cash flow." Stock word (leveraging), group of three, empty intensifier (truly seamless), vague "valuable insights".
4. "ten minutes every Friday is a game changer" Stock phrase. The fact (ten minutes, every Friday) is good and should stay.
5. "In conclusion, regular reviews are essential for long-term success." Summary of what was just said, and "essential".
6. "Let me know in the comments!" Closing invitation.

Not flagged: "I've been doing bookkeeping for nine years" and "What's your weekly money routine?" Both read like a person.

Count: 6 flagged lines. The three that matter most: 1, 2 and 5.
```
Notice that E1 left two lines alone because they sound like a person, and it did not rewrite anything.
