Windsurf's plugin documentation says these plugins bring its AI coding assistance into your existing IDE instead of the native Windsurf Editor. The page covers JetBrains IDEs, VS Code, Visual Studio, Vim and Neovim, Jupyter, Chrome for Colab notebooks and Eclipse.

Developers who want to stay in an existing editor, and have an older Codeium setup, are the main audience. New users should read the maintenance notes first.

Limits to check before you commit

The documentation says the JetBrains local plugin is in maintenance mode and Cascade is being deprecated, with Devin over ACP recommended; the JetBrains Remote Development plugin is no longer maintained; and the older plugins for VS Code, Vim and Neovim, Visual Studio, Jupyter, Chrome and Eclipse are also in maintenance mode. Signing in or creating an account is required for AI features, and the page links to a usage section for credits but states no specific pricing. Some package names still use "codeium".
