Sandbox0 is a managed runtime for long-running AI agents, operated by Lougao, LLC under the Sandbox0 name. Each sandbox is an isolated cloud computer whose software, configuration and files persist across checkpoints, and compute can be paused between tasks and resumed later. It is used through APIs, SDKs, a Python SDK and the s0 CLI. Billing is pay as you go for compute and storage. An open-source archive is on GitHub, but self-hosting is no longer supported.
A practical workflow
- Create an account
- Add a card to claim the $5 credit
- Install the s0 CLI or SDK
- Create a sandbox from a template
- Run commands and install tools
- Pause it when the task ends
Illustrative input
This example describes a task, not a tested output. Adjust the source material and settings to your own situation.
A developer gives a coding agent a sandbox, installs its tools once, pauses it overnight and resumes the same environment the next day.
Result check: Check the pricing page for current rates and keep an eye on running sandboxes, since idle running sandboxes still cost compute.
Access and alternatives
Compute is $0.015 per GiB-hour and storage $0.02 per GiB-month. The $5 credit needs a card and is given once. Default limits are 20 active sandboxes, 5 claims per second and 100 API requests per second. Self-hosting is no longer supported and bring-your-own-cloud is only planned.
Choose another workflow when its emphasis fits better: Browserbase for managed cloud browsers for agents rather than full computers.
