The useful result

Produce three tailored CV bullets, each backed by a real example from your history, plus a list of honest gaps.

  • Produce three tailored CV bullets, each backed by a real example from your history, plus a list of honest gaps.

Generic CV rewrites tend to add skills you do not have, which can fail an interview or a background check. This lesson builds a requirement-to-evidence table first, then rewrites only the bullets you can support.

It suits job seekers, students and freelancers applying for work in any country. Keep your personal details out of the chat; use initials and remove contact information.

1

Map requirements to evidence

Ask the AI to list the ad's main requirements and, beside each, quote the CV line that supports it. Anything without a quoted line is a gap. This stops the model reaching for plausible skills.

Try this prompt
Below are a job ad and my CV. List the five most important requirements from the ad. For each, quote the exact CV line that supports it or write "no evidence in CV". Do not infer experience that is not written.

[job ad]

[CV]

Example / expected result

Illustrative example (not a recorded model result): Requirement: manage client schedules | CV line: "Coordinated 12 weekly client sessions" | Requirement: use CRM software | no evidence in CV.

Check your result

Every quoted line really exists in your CV.

2

Rewrite only supported bullets

For three requirements that have evidence, ask for a stronger bullet that keeps every fact (numbers, tools, scope) unchanged. You may add the ad's wording only where it describes what you really did.

Try this prompt
Rewrite the three supported CV lines to match the ad's wording. Keep every number, tool and scope exactly as written. Do not add skills, results or tools I did not state. Return the original and the rewrite side by side.

Example / expected result

Illustrative example (not a recorded model result): Original: "Coordinated 12 weekly client sessions." Rewrite: "Scheduled and coordinated 12 client sessions each week."

Check your result

Compare each pair: no new number, tool or result has appeared.

3

Plan the honest gaps

For each "no evidence" item, decide yourself: add a real example you forgot, mention willingness to learn, or leave it out. Ask the AI only to phrase a truthful sentence from facts you give.

Check your result

You can explain every bullet in an interview with a real example.

When it goes wrong

AI may blend your wording with the ad until it claims a tool you never used. Some employers use screening software, and a document that merely repeats keywords can read poorly to people. Formatting from the AI may break in your document editor, so paste text only. Do not upload documents containing other people's data.

Make it your own

Take one real ad. Produce the table, rewrite three bullets, and have a friend ask you to prove each one with an example.
